New Interiors electronic journal

'Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture' is a newly-launched electronic journal from Berg Publishers, who have a strong focus on visual culture. The inaugural double issue has contributions from the fields of architecture, art and design history, film studies, women's studies, and architecture and design practice.

L.A. places

The L.A. places blog is compiled by a new Los Angeles resident, and reflects her explorations of the city's architecture, public art, parks and urban landscape. It's accompanied by plenty of good photographs and covers topics such as the local modernist architecture and tours of residential properties in the suburbs, together with maps, links, and suggestions for further reading.

Community green

New research from CABE reveals that large areas of open space around social housing estates are not being used because of their poor quality. Its report, 'Community green', argues that there is a major opportunity to tackle inequality and improve health in inner cities. It highlights particular barriers to the use of public green space by black and minority ethnic people.

MacMag 35 now out

The MacMag is an annual publication showcasing the Mackintosh School of Architecture's creative output. The latest, MacMag 35, commemorates the centenary of Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh building. It features interviews with architects such as Steven Holl, Noah Yaffe, Adam Caruso and Richard Lavington, and includes a DVD documenting the School's Centenary International Design Charette held in December 2009.
